MEET YOUR INSPECTOR

Matt Eaton the owner and lead inspector for Eaton Property Inspections has a deep background in construction and risk management. Matt comes from a long line of family members that have served in building management, construction development, and home inspections.  He has worked in corporate risk management and large scale project development throughout his career including managing over 20 multi-million dollar projects.  Matt loves helping buyers be informed and empowered when making the decision to purchase a home. The reward of directly connecting with and supporting home buyers with the information to move forward confidently is the reason Matt decided to establish his own home inspection business. There is nothing more rewarding than empowering home buyers in and around the community where he lives with the information and confidence they need when buying a home.

Certification, Training, and Professional Memberships.
In addition to his lengthy career in project development and risk management where Matt gained a strong knowledge in construction practices and an eye for detail Matt has also completed a series of trainings and certifications in order to ensure he is held to the highest standards as home inspector.

Matt received his formal training from Inspection Certification Associates (ICA) where he completed a series of courses taught by veteran inspector, Steve Preins, who has been inspecting and training other inspectors for over 30 years. Steve also served on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).

In addition to Matt’s formal training with ICA he shadowed under his mentor Keith Vereeken a local home inspector on the Central Coast who has been inspecting homes for over 25 years.  Kieth also served as the President and Instructor for the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA), San Luis Obispo Chapter.

Additionally, Matt went above and beyond to test his skills by passing the National Home Inspectors Examination. This test is not required for Home Inspectors in the state of California, but it the highest testing standard for home inspectors in the nation.
